Customer loyalty in South Africa has grown significantly over the past 10 years through improved activities in the previous 3-5 years. There are currently more than 100 loyalty programmes offered by companies in South Africa. Collinson Group research into the global affluent middle class revealed that 59% of customers would spend more time with brands that offer loyalty programmes which can be easily earned and redeem.
In the current digital era customer loyalty has increased with up to 8% since 2016 which brought the percentage of loyalty programme users to 79%.
