Is South Africa’s banking sector lagging behind adopting digital currencies?
Banks and financial institutions are no longer looking at crypto from the sidelines, but are they too slow in playing a role in market adoption?
Despite South Africa establishing itself as one of the continent’s largest cryptocurrency markets – receiving approximately $26 billion in value over the past year, banks now need a more aggressive push toward digital currency integration.
With greater regulatory clarity in South Africa partnerships between banks and crypto providers are becoming vital, especially in the light of growing customer demand and the recognition of cryptocurrency’s potential to enhance the efficiency and accessibility of financial services.
Against this backdrop early bird registrations have opened for the Crypto Assets Regulation & Compliance Conference taking place on 12 & 13 March 2025 at the Indaba Hotel in Fourways, Johannesburg.
Take advantage of the early bird registration fee of R5 800 p.p. This is only applicable up to the end of November.
