Digital solutions playing a role in reducing costs of remittances

Mobile technologies have proven to reduce costs in half. As the world is gaining momentum on the 4th industrial revolution, digital and mobile technology is enabling a more effective and cost reduction savings for senders and receivers of remittances.

The UN has established a goal to lower the cost of remittances to less than 3% by the year 2023. In 2017 digital technologies have nearly achieved this goal. Digital solutions have enabled transactions to be faster, secured and more transparent.

On the 06 & 07 March 2019, the Cross Border Remittances in the Digital Age Conference seeks to explore these mobile technologies and outline how local banks and financial services can take advantage of this phenomenon in order to cut costs.
