TCI rings in 2019 with successfully hosted and highly lauded industry events!

As the first quarter of 2019 draws to a close, TCI is proud to have hosted 2 recurring signature industry events, as well as a new conference (a first in South Africa) for industry professionals.

With the first Third Party Risk Conference in South Africa taking place on 19 & 20 March, the TCI team has been quite busy this year having already also hosted the Future of Brand & Customer Loyalty Conference (20 & 21 February 2019) as well as the Cross Border Remittances Conference 2019 (6 & 7 March  2019). With these industry events being held at the Indaba Hotel, Fourways, Johannesburg, the events were both a welcome getaway from the Johanessburg hustle-and-bustle as well the perfect networking and information sharing space.

The two day Cross Border Remittances in the Digital Age Conference featured 16 top class speakers from major companies such as Investec Bank, ENSafrica, Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr, SFX Foregin Exchange, ABSA, FNB, Ubank, IQbusiness, Nedbank, SCAD Software, Centbee, Hello Paisa and Veneka. Attendees of the event were treated to 16 insightful presentations; sharing various strategies, trends and developments, pertinent to cross border remittances in an ever-evolving digital world.

Attended by decision makers in the remittancees and money transfers space from companies such as Nedbank Global Business Unit, IMB Financial Services, Mukuru Digital, ABSA International Banking, Bidvest Bank, Shoprite Financial Services, South African Bankers Services, i pay Secure Payment, Standard Bank Investigations and Fraud Risk, Grindrod Bank, Rand Merchant Bank, ICICI Bank India, Capitec Bank and FNB and Standard Bank Money Laundering Surveillance units.

“The event was very well organised,” said Veronica Tzovaras, Compliance Manager at FNB Foreign Exchange, “excellent timekeeping and engagement by chairperson (Larry O’Sullivan)”. Tzovaras’ colleague, Yanum Naicker, also a Compliance Manager from FNB Foreign Exchange added that “This conference is the best to attend. This year was better than the 2018 conference,” testament to TCI’s aim to constantly improve their events year upon year.

As is the norm for all TCI conferences, “Speakers are very knowledgeable, very informative”, to quote Noriah Sesiane, Exchange Control Manager from Standard Bank who also attended the Cross Border Remittances in the Digital Age Conference. Sesiane’s sentiments are echoed by Martin Lodewijks, Loyalty Programme Manager at Sun International, who stated after the Future of Brand and Customer Loyalty Conference that he would “like to compliment the calibre of presenters at the conference,” when asked for comment.

TCI events are set up in a way to give attendees the experience of engaging and networking with the speakers as well as peers from their industry in order to allow for knowledge sharing and forming working relationship that will translate to fruitful and lucrative business deals.  Gauging from attendee feedback, TCI can definitely tick these off the checklist. Said Bayport’s Customer Experience Executive Nompilo Manyosi: “The conference topics were very relevant,” with The Digital Databank’s CEO Terry Kelly adding that “The selection of speakers are complementary to the subject matter.”

The Future of Brand and Customer loyalty conference hosted an array of brand and loyalty experts who adressed the event from Experian SA, SAS Customer Advisory, Consulta, BrandQuantum, Brilliance in Business, The Digital Databank, JellyFish, Smart Messaing.AI, ABSA Rewards and Experio.

The event included a panel discussion on the future and ongoing impact of digital channels on customers’ engagement and loyalty to brand. Delegates in attendance heartily engaged with all the speakers, panellists and industry colleagues. Sessions ran a little over, due to the excited engagement by attendees from Principa Decisions Relationship Management, Edcon Thank U, Scorpion Legal, Auto & General Affinities, FNB, Rand Merchant Bank, eBucks  Marketing, Genesis Analytics, Mahala Loyalty Programme, IQBusiness CEM, CIMS South Africa, SA Taxi Development Finance, FinGlobal, Sun International Marketing operations, Oracle Customer Experience, SBV Customer Engagement,  Famous Brands, Kansai Plascon Market Manager, Flight Centre Travel Group New Markets and so many more.

TCI extends a big thank you to all attending delegates, speakers and guests who supported our first 2 events of 2019. TCI looks forward to another year of amazing events and great conferencing experiences.
